Phil Irons: Square Natural Edged Platter

Square natural edge bowl.  I take a slice of log and turn it as a square rather than cut a disc from it. As a result they have two natural and two cut edges. They are turned with a soft ogee curve and the finished bowl has the appearance of having been vacuum formed rather than turned. I show the importance of good chucking with appropriate jaw sizes, the chucking spigot becomes part of the foot of the bowl.
