Colouring Wood

When:  Feb 23, 2021 from 06:00 PM to 08:00 PM (ET)
I’ve applied colour in various forms to my work since the early 1990’s.  I discuss surface preparation, use of wood-compatible dyes, ebonizing, bleaching, ebonizing, fuming, and liming.  My dye technique involves the use of only the primary colours – red, blue and yellow – and black. I show how these colours are applied to a piece separately rather than premixing colours to achieve spectacular effects on figured wood. I show how bleaching can be used to change the outcome or be used on its own.
