Enhancing the Rim

Sometimes a plate or platter craves “a little more.” Perhaps the wood was a little plain, or you want the rim to pop, or the rim needs to enhance the overall design. In this IRD, I will explore different options into enhancing the rim of a plate or platter, including burning, carving, and coloring. There will be some on-lathe work but specifically designed to show the intersection between woodturning and embellishment.
