Bio

I was introduced to woodworking by my father, a civil engineer who spent most of my childhood working in his garden or his basement workshop.  When he moved to Florida (from Michigan), he gave me most of his tools.  Most of my life was spent in Michigan and Indiana.  In 2017, after 30 years working as an engineer with Honeywell, I retired and moved to Tennessee.  Of course, I moved all the tools with me and for the first time had the space to create a real workshop.  Soon I re-discovered a love of working with wood, especially turning.  I refurbished a lot of my dad's old tools, including an ancient Montgomery Ward lathe - and I was hooked.  I've upgraded to a newer lathe, but still have my dad's lathe in service for certain purposes.  My focus is on segmented turning, but I love learning all different techniques.
