Woodturning Deep Textured Projects Series: Platters

During the first part of the series, I will demonstrate how to create a platter, including how to mount the blank, turn an ogee-curve on the bottom, and shape the rim and center of the platter. I will then delve into the artistic aspect of woodturning and teach my techniques for applying a deep texture to the platter, transforming it into a stunning work of art. I will share the tools and techniques used to create these remarkable pieces, including gouges, scrapers, and power-carving tools.
