Peace River Woodturners

Bio

A self-taught Woodturner since 2015, I have over 30 years in law enforcement and 23 years in the Air Force. I spent many hours as a student of professional artisans and now share this acquired knowledge with others teaching training classes and skills sessions at the Peace River Woodturners Club Gallery. I have also been known to do demonstrations for other clubs within our club's radius.

My passion for woodturning is obvious and sharing educational enrichment while providing training and guidance highlights my commitment to helping others develop their skills in this wonderful art/craft.

I enjoy working with “found wood” and many of my creations feature natural elements mixed within my woodturning, preserving the beauty of nature for future generations to enjoy.

Currently I am the President of the Peace River Woodturners in Port Charlotte, FL, I also head up the Wood Art Exposition and Competition, an annual exposition of combined Wood Arts at the Charlotte County Event Center in Punta Gorda, FL every January and I serve on the Board of Directors for the Florida Woodturning Symposium held annually in Lakeland Florida.

I started my woodturning journey making pens and then moved on to other forms. I like to bring out the natural beauty in wood that can be seen, touched, and admired for years to come.
