Joan Busby is a member of the Southern Bayou Woodturning Club in Ponchatoula, La., where she has served on the club's Board of Directors and Secretary in past years. Joan began turning about 8 years ago and was immediately captivated by the creative possibilities that resins offer as a turning material, used alone or cast with wood, fibers and other natural and man-made substances. Resins also allow her to explore the fascinating and very challenging world of color in new ways and to create unique functional and artistic pieces. She is using her eye for color to create custom resin blanks.
Joan has given several club demos and been a presenter at SKEW, an event run by her club.
